The powerful way to enjoy the benefits of BEETS: Have it RAW and not WAR! This is how the BEET-IT JUICE story goes.........

It was only yesterday, on a beautiful Sunday morning, when I was awaken by the blasting sound of music which came through my windows from the hypermarket across the street…though I’d rather be waking up to the sweet soothing sounds of chirping birds breaking the morning virginity.

Being half awake and half asleep I set foot lazily on the ground and made my way into the washroom. My eyes set on the image in the mirror. I uttered, "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, could it be me, the prettiest girl of all?" And the Mirror said yes! Aha... just kidding!! A girl can aways dream. Hehe.

I smiled and counted my blessings for being alive and healthy. Counted my blessings for the sight, hearing and sense of smell, touch and feel etc…perhaps there were moments where I had taken them for granted? I’m thankful for this life. Sincerely.

And speaking of my senses, my soul couldn’t digest the tunes that was playing out loud across the street and as they say, if you can’t beat them then join them, and so I did.

What better music to play to beat them, eh?! I was preparing myself for the RAW (and not WAR) in my LOVE KITCHEN, I pressed on the play button on my iPad, it felt as if I had pressed on my own life button. I could feel the blood dancing in my veins; every single rhythm was making me more awake than before. The rhythm hit me! The lyrics are coming out of my mouth and my body started to move and groove, tried to immitate the infamous crotch grabbing move. Did I say crotch? Yes, crotch – a bodily part which I was not even born with – and I didn’t intend to perform any gross misconduct! Oh well, no one is watching. So I danced and danced and lifted up a BEET in my hand ( I was imagining it as a speaker and all of you were my audience)

You Have To Show Them That You're Really Not Scared You're Playin' With Your Life, This Ain't No Truth Or Dare They'll Kick You, Then They Beat You, Then They'll Tell You It's Fair So BEET-IT, But You Wanna Be Bad [Chorus] Just BEET-IT, BEET-IT, BEET-IT, BEET-IT No One Wants To Be Defeated Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right

AND SO THAT WAS HOW MY BEET-IT JUICE WAS BORN!

INGREDIENTS:

1 medium size Organic Beet

2 oranges

2 cups of diced organic carrots

1 cup of organic aloe vera pulp

1 handful of organic lettuce

1 medium size lime

Wash the beet and carrots. Slice them into smaller pieces. There is no real need to remove the skin/outer layer. As long as they are organic produce and are thoroughly washed, you can juice it with the skin / outer layer on.

Peel off the skin of oranges and lime. Cut them into slices as well. For the aloe vera, you can choose to buy the readily pulped ones if you prefer to skip the chore of removing the pulp from its outer layer. I actually usually got my supply of organic aloe vera from AEON and all I need to do is to cut the aloe vera into smaller pieces and cut off the outer layer around it with a knife. They'll be in jelly-like square forms. Perfect to push through the slow juicer.

All you need to do next is to put the ingredients into the slow juicer. Stir the juice, enjoy every single drop of it and every cell in your body will be so grateful for it!

Here are some key facts to mention about Beets. They are rich in phytonutrients called Betalain (best when eaten raw as Betalain diminishes through cooking), iron, high in immune-boosting vitamin C, fiber, and essential minerals like potassium (essential for healthy nerve and muscle function) and manganese (which is good for your bones, liver, kidneys, and pancreas). Beets also contain the B vitamin folate, which helps reduce the risk of birth defects.

Health benefits:

  • Anemia reversal. It is GREAT NEWS FOR OUR BLOOD! Its work as a blood purifier and builder. Beet juice helps in the construction of red blood cells (carry oxygen around the body). This means that it can help to prevent anemia and improve energy levels. This is due to the presence of iron in high quantities which is what the oxygen binds to in red blood cells.

  • Lower Blood Pressure. The nitrate in beets causes dilation of the blood cells which means that more blood gets around the veins – hence reducing high blood pressure. Which helps to prevent heart attacks and strokes and can further help to improve circulation which helps to fight lethargy and breathlessness.

  • Reliefs Skin Problems and promote healthy skin

  • Prevents Cancer

  • Prevents Birth Defects (100 grams of beet root provides 27% of the RDA for folic acid known to prevent various birth defects in babies)

  • Eye Health (Raw beet greens contain two carotenoids: lutein and zeaxanthin). These carotenoids are easily destroyed when cooked.

  • Liver Health (It stimulates the function of liver cells and protects the liver and bile ducts. Beet fiber increased production of detoxifying enzymes in the liver (SOD, catalase, glutathione).

  • Others such as healing gout, kidney and gall bladder. It lowers homocysteine, improves production of stomach acid, reduce serum cholesterol and normalize blood pressure.

Note (!): Don't be alarmed if you see your stool or urine turn red. This is normal.

I am a great believer when it comes to expressing one’s emotions. Dancing is an expression of emotions. It is expressed through the music we hear. Similarly to cooking, baking, juicing… all can be expressed out of emotions. So go own, grab your crotch (opps!!), I mean, go and grab that BEET and make yourself some luscious juice that will make your blood dance vivaciously through your veins.

And my final words for today will end with the quote from my favourite artist, may his soul rest in peace, Amen!

“To live is to be musical, starting with the blood dancing in your veins. Everything living has a rhythm. Do you feel your music?”

― Michael Jackson

I wish to see you happy and lively!

Lots of love,

Aina
