Ms Moneypenny is awaken by the sun rays entering her bedroom window touching her soft skin. Since 2 weeks, her mornings have becoming even more beautiful and rejuvenating. She feels so much lighter and easier to jump out of her bed with so much lesser sinusitis symptoms-like. The days of her watery eyes and runny nose seem to have subsided. Her unexplained bruises around her thighs somewhat have disappeared mysteriously too. What is so apparent now is that even the veins that used to pop out from her hands and feet have subsided. She inhales LOVE, she exhales GRATITUDE. Feeling GRATITUDE moving through from her nostrils to every single part of her body cells. What could have been the remedy? Could it be those magically kisses she received from James in her sweetest dreams?!!

Since I have started eliminating certain foods from my healthy daily choices since a month ago, I begin to see some improvement in my health conditions. I now no longer have runny nose and teary eyes in the mornings, leg cramps, unexplained bruises as somewhat lessen than before and the most recent and most apparent result of my veins on my hands and feet are no longer popping out like how they used to be.

Some of the symptoms which I have listed above are related to Histamine Intolerance (HI) or also known as Histamine Disorder and Mast Cell Activation Disorder. People with these disorders have the inability to process histamine which has been identified as a contributor to several health conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, anxiety and panic attacks, asthma, rhinitis and hives. The British Allergy Foundation studies have shown histamine may play a role in these conditions. As for me, I only found out about my intolerance to histamine recently and my recommendation to you is if you suffer from any of the symptoms, then please go on a low-histamine clean eating lifestyle. Please check out www.mastcellmaster.com and google Histamine Intolerance to know more.

There are foods which contain the chemical histamine; they come in high-histamine, low histamine and histamine releasing foods. Whilst most people may process it without much health issues, those with sensitivity to histamine may experience a series of unpleasant and annoying symptoms. There is this so-called enzyme that plays a vital role in breaking down histamine during the digestive process and it is called amine oxidase. Lacks of his enzyme causing histamine to build up in your system, resulting in allergic symptoms. Both high level of unbroken down histamines and mast cells compromise your gut lining which resulting in the leaky gut symptom.

One thing for sure, we cannot completely avoid histamine. I strongly encourage you to do some research on them.

So, how do you know if you have Histamine Disorder?

From what I have read, it is not something that you do such as allergy test. Doctors and write ups have recommended the only way to know if you are histamine intolerance or not is by eliminating the high-histamine foods for 2 to 4 weeks to see if your symptoms have improved. In fact that was how I started and now I am seeing the improvements. Hence, the improvements have suggested that I have Histamine Disorder and I can now make better healthier daily choices.

However, I for one do not subscribe to the idea of elimination for a long period of time. I will only do it for the next 2 months or so and after which I will begin to reintroduce some high histamine foods into my healthy daily choices together with high ratio of low histamine and anti-inflammatory foods. So long as they do not cause serious adverse allergic reaction again. For now, I will continue to avoiding or limiting consumption of those of high histamine foods.

As my health progression is pointing in a positive direction after eliminating high oxalate / high histamine foods from my healthy daily choices, I believe that it is possible to lessen allergic reactions by lowering the overall histamine level.

For the past few weeks, I have also been enjoying a salad during working hours in between lunches and dinners. Instead of snacking junk food (which I have completely eliminated from my eating lifestyle) I choose to chew on this salad. Little did I know how powerful the combination has provided to my overall health. This salad is packed with goodness that is low in histamine indeed! Not only they are low in histamine but it contained phytonutrients such as Vit C, anthocyanins and quercetin.

The benefits of Berries

Vitamin C is indeed a powerful antioxidant found in berries. It is largely responsible for the health of collagen, which helps maintain cartilage stores and aids in joint flexibility. Eating vitamin C–rich berries will contribute to radiant skin and healthy hair, and may reduce the risk of arthritis, cataracts, and macular degeneration.

Quercetin can also decrease the inflammatory effects of chemicals in the synovial fluid of the joints for people with inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis.

Anthocyanins give berries their vibrant color, reduce inflammation, and may help prevent and manage arthritis.

Anthocyanins together with quercetin helps to keep your mental sharp as they aid in slow age-related memory-loss.

In addition to antioxidants, berries are composed of more than 85 percent water along with a high dose of fiber aids in losing weight, keeping you feeling full and helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Berries also contain folate which may protect against cardiovascular disease and age-related memory loss, and since folate contributes to the production of serotonin, it may also help ward off depression and improve your mood.

Blackberries Aid in lowering cholesterol, and in managing type 2 diabetes. Contain good source of folate, B vitamin that helps maintain healthy hair and may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and mood disorders. Additionally, blackberries are full of potent antioxidants that can help with arthritis, age-related memory loss, cataracts, and other vision problems.

Blueberries They contain potent antioxidants that can help with arthritis, age-related memory loss, and cataracts and other eyesight problems.

Raspberries Aids in lowering cholesterol, or in managing type 2 diabetes. They are also full of potent antioxidants, including vitamin C and anthocyanins, which can help with arthritis, age-related memory loss, cataracts and other eyesight problems, and maintaining healthy skin and hair.

Additionally, data reported at a meeting of the American Chemical Society which suggests that berries contain chemical compounds called polyphenolics. This compound could help prevent Alzheimer’s disease by cleaning up the damaging build-up of toxins over time.

Well, now you know why Ms Moneypenny has been feeling even more amazing than before, so I hope this will inspire you to create some creation using the berries as salad. Note that Strawberries are high histamine food and therefore I do not include them in my healthy daily choices.

Lots of love,

Aina
